Zhia Amber Mini Flip Album

One Saturday afternoon while babysitting (okay, actually I was just the observer, my aunt and mom were the yaya’s for the day…:D), Zhia was just so adorable so I decided to take out my phone to get some pictures.  Luckily, my phone has this ‘burst’ function that get four simultaneous pictures in one shot.  Perfect for babies since they tend to get fuzzy sometimes. A few adorable pictures later, I decided to try making a mini flip album from the tutorial I got from  So here are the results of my hard labor…;)

the cover pageThe cover of the flip album. Most of the pages are in pastel colors…;). The letters of her name had black glitter edges.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERAHere’s the first page (isn’t my niece so adorable?!!!).  I used pink patterned paper, some ribbons and baby items cut outs.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERAThat cute flower on the other hand is made from pink patterned paper and the center is a wooden bead from an old jewelry that I took apart.  You can find the instructions on making this flower from this site.  I just altered it a bit, instead of using the stem, I added the bead instead.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERAPage 2 of the flip album.  Since zhia had a few picture with her face so close to the camera, I decided to make a grid-like layout and put a toy rocking horse cutout as an accent.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERAThe page 2 flap.  I just made it simple so as to draw attention to the picture of my niece.  The embellishments are minimal, just a bear cut-out, a baby bottle and a rattle.  The background paper is plain pink thus centering the attention on the picture.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERAThe page 3 flap.  I created a pocket and a tag for the picture.  Again, I used minimal embellishments and a plain background paper to focus on the picture.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERAPage 3 of the album.  This is a combination of a pocket and a non-pocket.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERAI accented the tag with ribbons and mini fabric rosebuds.  For the bottom of the tag, I used a rub-on sticker to add emphasis on the picture.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERAThe center left-side flap.  This picture is just too cute!… I just accented it with a bear cut-out and a plain pastel blue background. I made use of an editing software on the photo to further enhance it.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERAThe center right-side flap.  This time, I used a whimsical patterned paper as a background for this photo.  It fits perfectly to the whimsical expression of my niece…;)

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERAThe center page.  There are minimal embellishments here, only the letter cut-outs of her name on the sides.  I made this collage of her pictures showing her fascination with a newspaper and an advertising page.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERAFor the fourth page of my album, I made an additional flap.  For the cover, I cut out a baby carriage stencil using plain pink cardstock and accented it with a fabric ribbon with a rose on the center.  The contrast between the pink and the pastel yellow is just stunning.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERAOn the inside of the flap.  Just random pictures of Zhia with my mother.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERAThe forth page flap does not contain any pictures but a tag with a quote.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERA“A wee bit of heaven drifted down from above. A handful of happiness, a heart full of love.” I designed the tag with ribbons and a fabric rosebud.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERAThe fifth page flab.  For the photomat, I used a textured paper and ribbon.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERAThe fifth page.  I cut out the words “Baby Girl” with a cursive font on a pink cardstock.  I just embellished the picture with a pink satin ribbon and a plain pink photomat.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERAThe sixth page.  I used the DIY flower again as in the the first page. This time in a pale blue patterned paper.  This fits perfectly with the flower patterned blue background paper.  A strip of pink ribbed ribbon adds a perfect touch to this page.

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERAThe final page.  I just used a pink patterned paper with a baby themed design.   A added a strip of pink paper to act as a pocket for the tag with Zhia’s picture in it.

There you go guys, my first mini flip album.  Hope you liked the layouts as much as I liked creating it.  I will be posting later some other mini albums that i created.  I have been fascinated lately with them since they can be made as perfect gifts!.   Thanks for reading!
